Pickleball Canada National Championship 2021
August 10 -15

This is a Pickleball Canada Sanctioned Tournament Tier 1

The tournament will be a six day event starting on Tuesday, August 10 and concluding on Sunday, August 15 with Monday, August 16 used as a rainout day, if necessary. All participants are invited to practice on Monday, August 9 at the Red Deer Pickleball Courts at Motorworks Fields.

Teams must play at the skill level of the highest rated partner, and in the age division of the youngest player.

Rated players may not play below their IFP rating
Unrated players may self-rate.
 The format will be Double Elimination with re-entry to the championship bracket.

Championship side and medal matches will be 2 out of 3 games to 11 points (win by 2; no cap).
Loser side will be one game to 15 points (win by 2; no cap).
Round Robin format may be used for smaller events of five or fewer teams. Brackets may be combined, or limited in size, based on the number of entries.

Seeding will be used by the PCO VP Sport Development and Competitions and the Tournament Director.

Events will be played in accordance with the IFP rules and regulations in effect at the time of the tournaments. We allow only that equipment approved by the IFP and players should ensure their paddle is on the approved list equipment. Please refer to the IFP website: www.ifpickleball.org.

OFFICIATING

All matches will be officiated.
Open and Senior Open Championship Matches will have a Level 3 Referee.
Medal matches will include 4 line judges.
The Chief Referee and/or the Tournament Director will make a final ruling on disputes when necessary.

Medals will be awarded to Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners.
